A. Overview
THIS DOCUMENT SETS FORTH THE SeaMiles ONLINE PRIVACY POLICY (THE "PRIVACY POLICY") FOR THIS WEBSITE, REFERRED TO HEREINAFTER AS THE "WEBSITE" OR "SITE". IF YOU HAVE ANY OBJECTION TO THE PRIVACY POLICY, YOU SHOULD NOT ACCESS OR USE THIS WEBSITE. THIS PRIVACY POLICY DOES NOT GOVERN PRIVACY PRACTICES ASSOCIATED WITH OFFLINE ACTIVITIES.
B. Information We Collect
Web Site Traffic Information
Every computer connected to the Internet is connected through an ISP (e.g. AOL™) and is assigned a unique IP Address (e.g. 68.164.13.145). When a visitor requests a page from within our websites, our web servers automatically identify and log the HTTP request that is made to our websites. This information reveals nothing personal about you. In fact, the only information that we automatically gather and log is as follows:
The IP address or the name of the site that may have referred you
There is absolutely nothing special about the information just described, and the practice of collecting this data has been generally standardized by virtually every web server on the Internet today.
The purpose for this information is actually two-fold. One, SeaMiles has found it advantageous to examine visitor traffic in its aggregate, so that we can ensure maximum compatibility for the various browsers and operating systems that visit our websites. Additionally, as any business should attest, it is our desire to generate greater amounts of visitor traffic. By analyzing visitation patterns, referring URLs and search engine terms, we can strategically enhance our exposure on the Internet.
Use of "Cookies"
Cookies are small pieces of data that are transferred to your computer's hard drive through your web browser from our web server. A cookie cannot read data from your hard disk or read cookie files that may have been created from other sites. The SeaMiles website utilizes cookies as a mean of providing personalization features to our visitors. For example, we utilize cookies to remember your login information so you don't have to type it again every time you visit our website, settings (background music selections, wallpapers preferences, etc.) that you may have made at our website.
You can choose whether to accept cookies by changing the settings of your browser. Typically, by accessing the browser's help feature you can obtain information on how to prevent your browser from accepting all cookies or to notify you when a cookie is being sent. If you choose not to accept these cookies, your experience at our website and other websites may be diminished and some features may not work as intended.
Use of "Web Beacons"
The SeaMiles website may contain "Web Beacons" as electronic images. Sometimes these Web Beacons are called single-pixel gifs that allow SeaMiles to count users who have visited those pages and to deliver co-branded services. SeaMiles may include Web beacons in promotional e-mail messages in order to count how many messages have been opened and acted upon. The e-mail messages may contain "clear GIFs" or "Web Beacons" to measure the offer's effectiveness so SeaMiles may know how to provide the best service to you.
Web beacons collect only a limited set of information including a cookie number, time and date of a page view, and a description of the page on which the Web beacon resides. SeaMiles web pages may also contain Web beacons placed there by third parties in order to compile aggregated statistics and to help determine the effectiveness of our joint promotional or advertising campaigns.
Customer Service Correspondence
If you send us correspondence, including e-mails and faxes, we retain such information in the records of your account. We will also retain customer service correspondence and other correspondence from SeaMiles to you. We retain these records in order to measure and improve our customer service, and to investigate potential fraud and violations of our User Agreement. We may, over time, delete these records if permitted by law.
Questionnaires, Surveys and Profile Data
From time to time, we offer optional questionnaires and surveys to our users for such purposes as collecting demographic information or assessing users' interests and needs. The use of the information collected will be explained in detail in the survey itself. If we collect personally identifiable information from our users in these questionnaires and surveys, the users will be given notice of how the information will be used prior to their participation in the survey or questionnaire.
C. Our Use and Disclosure of Information
Except as otherwise stated, we may use information collected via this website to improve the content of our website, to customize the website to your preferences, to communicate information to you (if you have requested it), for our marketing and research purposes, and for any other purpose specified. In addition, we may make full use of all information acquired through this website that is not in personally identifiable form.
If you provide personally identifiable information to this website, we may combine such information with other actively collected information unless we specify otherwise at the point of collection. We may disclose personally identifiable information you provide via this website to other SeaMiles partners worldwide that contractually agree to treat it in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
D. Information Security
SeaMiles is committed to handling your information with high standards of information security. We restrict access to your personally identifiable information to employees who need to know that information in order to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information. We test our security systems regularly and also contract with outside companies to audit our security systems and processes.
The security of your SeaMiles account also relies on your protection of your password. You may not share your SeaMiles password with anyone. SeaMiles will never ask you to send your password or other sensitive information to us in an e-mail, though we may ask you to enter this type of information on the SeaMiles website.

The date of the most recent Privacy Policy is located at the top of this page. We encourage you to periodically review this policy to be informed of how we are committed to protecting your information and providing you with improved content on our website in order to enhance your online experience.
